Wildflowers of the Mid West
Mid West Mullewa Australia
Description:
For carpets of colourful wildflowers there's no better place than Western Australia's Mid West region. The wildflowers of the mid west are rated among the best in the country with fields of pink, blue and white everlastings colouring the landscape from late July to September. This is the wildflower viewing you've always imagined - vast displays sometimes stretch as far as the horizon. Hit the road around the towns of Mullewa, Mingenew, Perenjori and Wubin for excellent views of everlastings. There's also plenty to see on self drive trips from Geraldton or Greenough. Vivid banksias and grevilleas, kangaroo paws, feather-flowers, starflowers, smoke-bushes and eucalypts are widespread. Most visitor centres in the region can provide updates on the best places to see the flowers. The wildflowers of the mid west region are an easy self drive trip from Perth - give yourself about six hours to get there. There are also many wildflower coach tours to the area operating during spring time from Perth.
