Explore the oldest roundhouse in NSW and enjoy the sights, sounds (and smells) of rail travel over the last 130 years! Enjoy unlimited 20 minute rides in the 1880s Heritage Listed Sydney Steam Tramcar or 1890 "Cowboy" carriage hauled by ancient tank engine "Stevo". View model railway layouts including a five metre long HO scale model of the Depot as it was in the 1950s. Climb aboard steam engines, carriages and wagons from many eras of trains across the mountains. See the remarkable "Caves Express" and the "Ice Van", carefully restored to their former glory! View exhibits of rail artefacts and paintings, local history and photographic display plus the shop stocks a selection of books, DVDs and other souvenir items. Kids can do the fascinating 10-question quiz and check answers on the website. The museum is normally open the second and fourth Sunday of every month. Barbecue facilities are available or relax with a cup of tea or coffee and cake in the tea rooms.
