Description:

For authentic Italian cuisine close to the heart of Ipswich, Casa Mia Licensed Café, Restaurant and Function Centre will more than satisfy. Owner and chef, Mario, trained in Italy so knows how to delight customers with food prepared just like in the old country. The décor is pleasingly modern, and 1930s and ‘40s travel posters add to that genuine Italian feel. Traditional Italian cabaret music serenades diners and once a month entertainers take to the stage. Casa Mia is Mario’s third restaurant so he knows his business well. Pizzas are hand-made from scratch, with a specialty being a delectable seafood pizza, and another favourite for diners is Scaloppini – pork or chicken fillets – done five different ways. Vegans are catered for (try the Roasted Mediterranean Vegetables with Rice Noodle Pasta) and most meals can be adapted to be gluten-free. Desserts range from Tiramisu to Ricotta Cheese Cake to Apple Strudel and, of course, Gelati. Casa Mia, in the building that formerly housed the Bodega Restaurant and Pancake Manor, makes good use of its generous space with a 200-seat main restaurant, side wing to sit 50 and outdoor function area (popular for weddings) for 150.
